UNFOLDING + EMBRACING

(sneak peek at The "Heritage" 2009 Collection, part 2) Thelma design Heritage

It was a beautiful Friday - the sun was sitting rather peacefully right above the horizon, warming the facades of the houses in downtown Reykjavik and somewhat melting our hearts. That day our dear friend Sigga Sunna came to visit us with her famous sunny smile (please note that among other things, her name translates to sunshine)

Spring was clearly in the air and as the ice was slowly but gradually melting away, we felt inspired. This came to be the right time to unfold a piece from our 2009 "Heritage" Collection.

Bewitched by Sigga Sunna's sunny attitude, no other was more suitable to premiere one of our new pieces. Sigga Sunna is a talented artist and a creative mind. She is one of the core members of Valgeir Sigurdsson's prestige ensemble and lends a hand to the Bedroom Community. The ensemble recently did us the honour by wearing Thelma design headpieces during Valgeir Sigurdsson's concerts in Belgium last December. Where they as well warmed the stage for french singer Camille.

Now, the piece we chose to unravel is simple, fun yet seductive. Designed to captivate the senses and to indulge our inner temptress. For The "Heritage" Collection we use materials which are not only pleasing to the touch but to the eye. Playing with shapes and function, this collection offers you a new way to embrace your inner woman.

Don't you just love it when the seasons change? We certainly do.

Oh and have you seen Sigga Sunna's enchanting video for Sam Amidon? Click here

Sneak Peek at The "HERITAGE" 2009 Collection"

Heritage With our 2009 "Heritage" Collection we celebrate traditions, memories, past lives, scent, silent film stars, opera, elegance, seduction and falling in love.

"I remember going to my grandmother's house after school. After completing my homework I was awarded with being alowed to relax in the living room with my grandmother and doing crochet together in front of the television. We frequently watched a tv series set in the 1800s and films from the 30s and 40s, my grandmother loved them. I recall the costumes and the actresses that mesmerized me with their beauty and elegance.

I distinctly remember my grandmother's rich and spicy perfume mix with the sweet scent of roses from the garden, while I listened -completely hypnotized to her stories from her youth". - Thelma

It is with this collection that we look back and embrace our heritage, both as individuals and as women.
